Regents Physics at Lansingburgh High School

Picture
The first semester of Regents Physics is devoted to mechanics: the study of motion, causes of motion, and energy associated with states of motion.  Regents Physics is algebra based, but where appropriate, we will discuss connections to calculus based Physics.

In second semester of Regents Physics, the focus switches to electricity, magnetism, optics, waves and modern physics.   We will start with static charge behavior, and move through current, and basic circuits.  Our exploration of magnetism begins with magnetic fields and forces, and then continues into electromagnetism.  Optics, waves and modern physics will bring together all  of the topics of the year, as we turn to more recent research in physics.
